- Cuban born Hector Villanueva began his dj career in the spring of 1986. He got his first break at a club filling in for his friend, Richard Humpty Vission, who was double booked and asked if he would play one of the gigs...he did and the rest just fell into place. At a time of Euro Disco and New Wave Hector was one of the first djs in L.A. to play House music, which was greatly excepted and praised, this brought Hector to the forefront of the underground dance music scene playing in clubs and dance halls all over the L.A. area. Hector can now be heard djing all around the country from the Pacific North West to Southern Florida. He is currently producing his own style of deep tech house and also under the moniker of Gooey Manilla with close friend Luke Mandala, owner of Activated Recordings.
